A new LED Headlight Kit is now available, offering superior brightness, energy efficiency, and durability compared to traditional bulb types.
This bolt-on kit is designed to directly replace standard H4-type 12V headlight bulbs. The plug-and-play connector eliminates the need for complex wiring, and the compact LED base means there’s no need for a separate ballast like with HID systems.
By using a separately sold H4 LED bulb base, you can enjoy reduced power consumption, brighter and more stable lighting, and?if using warm white LEDs?preserve the vintage look of your vehicle. High-efficiency LEDs also reduce the load on the wire harness and headlight switch.
While standard halogen bulbs (low beam) provide around 1,000 lumens, the warm white LED version delivers 2,000 lumens?twice the brightness. Note: Lumen is a unit that measures the total amount of visible light emitted by a source.
The 3000K (Kelvin) version is recommended for those who prefer the soft, warm tones typical of vintage vehicles. It produces a natural light similar to slightly yellowish halogen bulbs, maintaining the classic atmosphere without making it obvious that an LED is installed.
The 5000K (Kelvin) version offers a clear, bluish-white brightness, providing excellent visibility and a well-balanced LED lighting option.
Kelvin is the unit used to describe the color temperature of LEDs: the lower the number, the warmer (more yellow) the light; the higher the number, the cooler (more bluish) the light.
With power consumption of only 35W, this LED cuts energy use by about 36% compared to a 55W halogen low beam. This significantly reduces the burden on the battery, alternator, relays, and wiring.
Of course, unlike bulb-type headlights, there’s no worry about filament failure, making these highly durable. Reverting to a traditional bulb is also easy, so you’re covered in case of emergencies.
